Stop trying to get everyone to like you

Somebody once gave me the best advice I had ever heard. They said that 20% of the people in the world will not like me and that there was nothing I could do to change their minds.

It was the way I walked or talked or how short or tall I was or the way I dressed or laughed.

And there was nothing I could do to change their minds.

Suddenly I was free of this constant need, this drive to be liked by everyone. I could just be me, totally me and those that were drawn to that energy, that look, that vibe would be even more sure that I was who they wanted to be around.

It is very freeing to stop trying to impress those that will just never be impressed by you. Start focusing your attention on the you that impresses YOU the most. Who do you want to be? Which version of you makes you happy. Focus on that and leave the world to sort themselves out.

Your job and your focus is you.
